China to Hillary: “Who Gon’ Check Me Boo?”

China is not playing with U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton!
The Chinese Foreign Ministry, in so many words on Friday, told the U.S. (and Hillary) to mind our own damn business about Internet freedom in their country. They insist that meddling in Chinese affairs is going to hurt U.S. – China relations … ::coughPIMPcough:: the people we owe BILLIONS of dollars to.
You may have recently heard that China is accused of hacking the Gmail accounts of some people both in and out of the country. The victims were those who spoke ill of the Communist Chinese government. Well, Google found out and hit the roof! They put an extra layer of security on Gmail accounts and told China that they would NOT continue to filter their popular search engine for Chinese citizens. An open search engine is a no-no in China because they don’t get into a free flow of information, but they claim they do! Google is now asking the Chinese authorities to look into the cyberattack (yeah right .. ::side eye::).
Hillary Clinton dipped her cankles into the situation with a speech at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. on Thursday. She called out China for blocking parts of the Internet and free speech at some levels, which they have been doing for years. It’s a standard line, but she also said the U.S. would help fund groups that seek freedom of speech and getting around government Internet filters.
This could get interesting, as soon as the U.S. government stops illegally tapping our phone lines! Thanks Bush 43 ..
