Dummy Harry Reid Speaks Out AGAINST The NYC Mosque

Damn! We are all entitled to our opinions. But, can Harry Reid put his foot any further in his mouth?
The Senate Majority Leader spoke out AGAINST the mosque that is to be built two blocks from the site of the former World Trade Center. The president just spoke in FAVOR of the mosque on Saturday. If that’s what Harry believes, then fine. But, to undermine the president with such a politically-sensitive issue really doesn’t make a lot of sense.
The majority leader commented on the controversy. “The First Amendment protects freedom of religion. Senator Reid respects that but thinks that the mosque should be built some place else,” said Reid via a statement from his people. [I’m not exactly sure how one can invoke the First Amendment, then toss it out the window when it doesn’t suit their tastes .. but I digress].
It’s not really Harry’s opinion that I’m knocking. I wouldn’t want him to be a puppet. For me, he just has a keen ability to make himself look like a total ass at the most inconvenient of times.
It does look like he is doing what is politically convenient for him, though. He’s in a tough race this November for his Senate seat. With many voters (that don’t even live in NYC) opposing the mosque, Harry has to jump on the bandwagon somewhere. His opponent, Sharron Angle, already called him out for not denouncing POTUS’s support for the mosque over the weekend.
So, I recognize Harry’s hustle for the few pennies it’s worth. He’s trying to keep his job with the Nevada voters at any cost. I just hate to see him trying to get that support by marginalizing millions of people whose only “offense,” in some Americans eyes, was being Muslim. I’m confused…
