FLOTUS Offers GWU a “Service = Speaker” Challenge

I like the idea of this and it seems that The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. has stepped up to the challenge.
Last September, First Lady Michelle Obama said that she would speak at GWU’s May 16 commencement if the university community completed 100,000 hours of community service. They worked really hard and met the goal at least a month ahead of schedule. The faculty, staff and students performed service in Washington, D.C., New Orleans, and even as far away as Ecuador. Some service projects involved the First Lady directly. So, since they met the challenge, FLOTUS will iron her good dress to make it to the National Mall next month for their commencement. I know that’s gotta feel good for them.
Mrs. Obama is also scheduled to speak over the next two months to Anacostia High School in D.C. and the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff. I’m not sure if she gave them a similar challenge, but she’s on their calendars. Unlike GWU, I hope they believe in INDOOR COMMENCEMENTS. This sudden heat and allergies has me discriminating against all unnecessary outdoor activities. I’m just saying…
