Insiders Say Rahm Emanuel Will Leave the White House

| On 27, Sep 2010

Rahm Emanuel may soon hop in his '78 Buick and ride off into the sunset back to Chicago!

There’s some breaking news out of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.

America’s most-lovable [sarcasm] White House Chief-of-Staff Rahm Emanuel is all but certain to leave the Obama Administration, according to insiders close to the president. CNN reported the news late Monday night.

We also reported the whispers in the wind about Rahm’s aspirations when current Mayor Richard M. Daley announced earlier this month that he would not seek re-election. As the weeks have passed, it seems more and more likely that it was true. Hmmm…

Truth be told, business-wise, Rahm is NOT the one to play with. He’s tough, a go-getter, and he’ll hold a gun to your mama’s head to get what he needs. Rahm had a small part in an hour-long NBC special last fall about the Obama White House. He closed the door in the cameraman’s face! Rahm had simply finished talking and was about to start another meeting and .. “BAM” .. he moved on. lol.. He’s just one of those people that probably says “I love you…” by cursing at you like a sailor.

Emanuel seems to be pretty prepared for the job. For starters, he’s the chief-of-staff of the sitting U.S. president and juggles about 532 balls in the air at any given time. He also served in the U.S. House of Representatives from the 5th district of Illinois for six years.

Initial reaction is hesitant from people I know connected to Chicago. They have already been under the thumb of a mayor serving (what will be) a 22-year term when he leaves office. I think the great folks of Cook County need a breather and don’t need to be dragged into another domineering, abrasive dictatorship relationship so soon. Let the Daley wounds heal a bit…

Chicago readers … what do you all think about Rahm Emanuel possibly serving as your next mayor?
