Low Blows From The South Carolina Tea Party Event

At this point, I don’t expect too much civility or real ideas from some of the Tea Party rallies. This, however, is one of the newer lows I’ve seen.
Former Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colorado) made a guest appearance at a South Carolina Tea Party rally in Greenville. He knows how to push the buttons of the Tea Party members because he gave them exactly what they wanted to hear. Among other things, Tancredo suggested that we send President Obama back to Kenya since Mrs. Obama said it was his homeland.
Another speaker at the event took a really low blow at Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) and the rumors about his sexuality. Wow .. LOL! How do they justify attacking their own?!
Even the clergy got in on the action. Pastor Stan Craig of Choice Hills Baptist Church said that he was prepared to, “suit up, get my gun, go to Washington, and do what they trained me to do.” WTF??? Is this 1776 now?? I mean, this rally was in South Carolina, of all states, but really??
Of course, the Tea Partiers made the rallying cries of wanting their liberty, God-given rights, etc. Last time I checked, we were far from a dictatorship in the U.S. But, who am I? This violent rhetoric is completely unnecessary, especially when the Administration is open to new ideas.
I continue to note that we never see or hear of any real ideas coming from the Tea Party or its rallies. I hear the same speeches about lower taxes, less government, no healthcare reform, but no concrete NEW ideas. Reverting back to the status quo is not a NEW idea that’s going to promote change. And frankly, violence is not going to solve problems either.
