Obama’s Approval – Half Like Him, Half Don’t
Matt | On 06, Jan 2010
The folks over at Politico.com reported this morning that President Obama’s approval rating is hovering right at 50 percent as we kick off 2010. Considering as how he’s beaten to a pulp sometimes in the media, that was kinda high in my mind. The news hook is that Obama has the second LOWEST approval rating of any president heading into the SECOND year of his term – an exact 50 percent. Only Ronald Reagan was lower at 49 percent in 1982.
I’m going to take a line, which I never do, from George W. Bush and say that “polls don’t matter.” LOL! No, Obama isn’t the perfect president and nobody ever will be. But, the mess he was left with requires tough decision-making. When the status quo has to change, then obviously, there’s going to be a shift in the polls. Some people just don’t want to change. I would encourage Pres. Obama to hang in there and keep making the real decisions this country needs. We [hope to] thank him later.
