Rep. Randy Neugebauer Takes Heat For ‘Baby Killer’ Outburst

It was bound to happen. The mystery has been solved about who yelled out “It’s a baby killer” while Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) was speaking on the House floor on Sunday night. This sounds like something off of a third-grade recess playground!
Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) admitted on Monday that he got flip with his lip and hollered the phrase during the healthcare debates. Though the debate got heated at several points, it’s against protocol to openly demean other members of Congress.
As reported Sunday, Stupak was one of the final Democrats to switch to a ‘yes’ vote on the legislation. President Obama offered him an Executive Order banning the use of federal funds to go toward abortions. So, since he switched his vote in favor of the bill, that’s when the name-calling began.
Neugebauer has apologized to Stupak and the House for the outburst. He did want to clarify that he was not calling Stupak a baby killer, but the legislation itself. Uh huh … yeah right! I’m just glad he was man enough to stand up and own his comments. They were out of line because they are simply not true.
