Tea Party Put Obama’s Photo On a FOOD STAMP!

Ain’t this about a b*tch?!
The Tea Party is showing their true colors again, this time in their newsletter. It was part of a piece called “Where to Put Obama’s Picture” – noting the other presidents on the various bills. So, the great people of the Tea Party put their bitter minds to work.
They decided to put Obama’s photo on a FOOD STAMP of all things. Of course, the argument always wraps around to their “socialist” views of the President and how they feels he connects [too much] with the poor. The explanation in the newsletter to go with Obama’s tacky food stamp photo is as follows:
“Obama’s policies have put more people on welfare than any president before him so this placement is most appropriate. Unlike the Nobel Peace Prize, for which he did nothing, this is an “honor” he richly deserves.”
There are so many ways to attack this characterization of the President. Some think that the image is racist because black people are often associated with welfare, food stamps, and the like. To me, that’s an obvious knee-jerk (though pretty accurate) reaction. It is, though, a very cheap shot at the Commander-In-Chief.
I say that Obama just simply isn’t getting a fair shake period, white or black, considering all of the economic work he’s had to do to save the economy. Of course, he’s going to look like the shittier of presidents when he had to start the race a half-mile behind every other president [including Bush].
The Tea Party has built a platform of wanting smaller government, more freedom, and more individuality. The problem is that they were mute about these needs before Obama took office, but now want him to “get on their level” and fix every damn thing around them. It’s like telling a first-grader they are behind on studying for their SAT’s and learning the periodic table. Umm .. it takes time to catch up, people!
