Matt | On 10, Jun 2010
It’s awards season around here! We wanted to share information about a great program to honor African-American bloggers. Meet the 2010 Black Weblog Awards!
Here’s a snippet of what the awards are about according to one of their media releases:
“The Black Weblog Awards was founded in 2005 to give recognition to Black bloggers (and those of the African diaspora) that were largely overlooked by other Internet award events. The Black Weblog Awards is an international showcase with participants from over 90 countries and stands out as the most widespread Internet award event for Black bloggers. To date, the Black Weblog Awards has recognized nearly 180 blogs in over 30 categories, and has also been featured in several mainstream and online media outlets, including NPR.”
Many of you who read Prune Juice Media also read other great blogs. This is a perfect opportunity to nominate your favorites! There are 35 potential categories to submit nominations to this year.
I have already completed my form and nominated some of my favorite blogs around the Net and I hope you will too. Honor the hard work of bloggers who keep you informed, laughing, and make your work day pass so much faster.
Nominations for the finalists round are open until Sunday, July 25. Act today and do not wait until the last minute. The finalists will be announced on Sunday, August 1. You can vote for the finalists for the entire month of August. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 1.
So, click here to electronically submit your nomination form. You can only vote once person. Blogs can be nominated for more than one category, but not all 35. Seriously. Don’t do it!
