The Real Story Behind the Eric Massa Allegations

| On 13, Apr 2010

According to new allegations, former Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) seems to be a dirtier old man than originally thought...

The Washington Post brought the HEAT in a story today that sheds light on the REAL reasons that former Rep. Eric Massa’s (D-New York) staff ran and told on his creepy behavior.

If you remember, we flooded Prune Juice Media in early March with coverage about Massa’s alleged improper conduct with male staff members.  We are talking about everything from young men tickling him at his 50th birthday party to “massage” offers for fellow Navy shipmen.  Really insane stuff…

Well, it seems that a whole lot of other sh*t was going on in the Massa camp. To make a long and truly filthy story short, Massa started hitting on his male staffers about three months after he was elected in November 2008.  When staffers began to complain, management handled it as an internal affair trying to keep the secret from getting out.  But, the dirty old man Massa kept at it.  Eventually, Congressional leadership heard whispers in the wind about it around the fall of 2009.

It was an incident this past February that was the straw that broke the camel’s back.  Massa was at a WAKE, of all places, for a fallen soldier in Hornel, New York and allegedly hit on a bartender there. The man mentioned the incident online and it got back to the staff.  Massa had offered to meet the guy in Buffalo  – 85 miles away – but he explained it away saying he planned to give the guy a “law school reference.”  (Lord, don’t let me make a joke about Massa explaining “the Bar” to the guy).  The bartender actually called Massa’s office and asked staffers why in the world he needed to meet him that far away.  He knew what the deal was…

Anyway, the House Ethics Committee investigation is still ongoing.  But, now House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) is calling for investigations about who knew what for how long.  There seems to be a large gap of time (i.e., months) that Congressional leadership knew of problems in Massa’s office, but did nothing about it.  The staffers were left to suffer in an environment where they couldn’t speak up too much and Massa could get even more raunchy with male staffers.

Truly a HOT MESS…
