Woman Is ‘Exhausted’ With Obama About Economy

Check out this clip from a town hall this week hosted by CNBC featuring President Obama.
The interactive forum with Obama, audience members, and a moderator was a pretty run-of-the-mill chance for the president to answer real questions about real issues.
Well, one moment stood out in particular. A lady named Velma Hart made her opinion of the president’s job very well known. She was cordial, but direct with POTUS saying she was “exhausted” with defending him and his policies that weren’t working. She also spoke of the “mantle of change” that he ran on and how she’s not seeing that manifest in her world. Hart is a veteran, an executive, a mother and a wife.
Very interesting commentary…
For me (and a lot of others), Hart’s comments ironically spoke to the unreported angst in the black community about Obama’s job performance and chances for re-election. Mainstream news networks were all abuzz about someone from Obama’s most loyal voting blocs (black women) now speaking out against the president.
[Note to mainstream media: I know more than a few black women, and they have great opinions that they are ALWAYS willing to share. Trying ASKING them sometime, ok? Thanks.]
Anyway, I can actually agree with Hart’s comment. Obama’s platform doesn’t look as rosy in 2010 as it did in 2008. I get that being ON the job is different than campaigning FOR it. I don’t think Obama is a bad president at all. But, he and Congress have really gotta turn this ship around soon or some fresh pink slips will be sent to the West Wing of the White House in two years.
