Bill O’Reilly and Jon Stewart Spar Over “Thug” Rapper Common

Here is a bit of entertainment for your long Thursday afternoon.
In the midst of the conservative dust-up about rapper Common’s appearance at the White House, at least one major liberal voice has come to his defense.
“The Daily Show’s” Jon Stewart paid a visit to Bill O’Reilly of “The O’Reilly Factor” to talk a little bit about Common and the White House policy on guests.
It was quite an interesting debate! Bill O’Reilly thinks Common should be banned from the White House because he believes that “cop killer” Assata Shakur, who was convicted of gunning down a New Jersey state trooper in the early 1970s, is actually innocent.
By the end of the interview, Stewart summed it up best. Nobody gives a damn about who appears at a White House POETRY event of all things. As with most of their “news,” FOX has fanned the flames on something that is not news at all.
Most of the general public didn’t care about Common before this event, even though he’s a great and socially-conscious rapper. They will pick at anything these days.
