Bill O’Reilly Gets Pissy and Physical with an Amateur Videographer

Bill O’Reilly is not having the best week ever, at least not on this site.

First, he suggested that President Obama visit the now-defunct “Soul Train” music show as an outreach strategy for blacks.

Now, O’Reilly had a run-in with an amateur videographer, Branden Lane, in Washington, D.C. As O’Reilly walked from the hotel where a Newt Gingrich fundraiser was taking place to the White House on Wednesday night, Lane approached him in the rain. O’Reilly, who was using an umbrella due to the weather, became instantly irritated with the questions about whether or not he was leaving the presidential candidate’s fundraiser.

(Note: News people are not allowed to publicly support candidates for office. Remember what happened to Keith Olbermann of MSNBC last year? Reports say, though, that O’Reilly was just staying at the same hotel but not attending the fundraiser. Who knows?)

Anyway … instead of ignoring Lane, O’Reilly lashed out at him with his umbrella. He says that he was trying to protect himself in case Lane had a knife. (Umm yeah, O’Reilly can’t seriously think we believe that an umbrella will protect someone from a knife-wielding maniac).

Lane wasn’t doing anything but asking if O’Reilly came from the Gingrich fundraiser. Bill, in his usual arrogant way can dish out dirt from his comfy New York studio, but can’t take the heat from real people in the streets.
