CNN’s Nic Robertson Lays Into FOX News’s Ass On-Air

Corporate media is just that. It’s pretty corporate and buttoned up. You rarely even hear competing networks mention one another, their programming, or specific journalists.
Well, Nic Robertson of CNN has had enough. He called FOX News on the carpet on-air during The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.
The dispute between the networks involved Robertson, who is covering the conflict in Libya on the ground, and Steve Harrigan of FOX News, who is also assigned there. Harrigan said that he would not accompany the rest of the reporters from other networks on an assignment to see government areas in Libya. Harrigan believed that Col. Muammar Gaddafi would use the reporters as human shields or propaganda tools to keep the the United Nations from attacking him.
Well, that false report ignited Robertson. He debunked the myth about human shields. He also went a step further to say that out of all the networks, he only sees the FOX folks at breakfast table but nowhere else. Robertson claims that other competing networks have noticed this too. This means that FOX is NOT bold enough to get in and really REPORT the story. They must be over there filing their nails.
Hmm … Imagine that?!
To quote Robertson: “You expect lies and deceit from the dictatorship here. You don’t expect it from the other journalists.” He called FOX’s claims “outrageous” and “absolutely hypocritical.”
It’s about time that others in the media started calling FOX out. Their entire network is built on propaganda, but it’s funny how they run from it when they think they see it elsewhere.
I take my hat off to Robertson and others in Libya risking their lives to bring us these stories. They are much better than me because I would chain myself to a tree before I dust off my passport for Tripoli.
I’m just being honest… lol.
