Gabrielle Giffords to Release Memoir on November 15

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is turning her pain into some form of healing as she moves on from tragedy.
In January, a gunman shot Giffords in the head and wounded and killed several others while they were attending the “Congress On Your Corner” event in Tucson, Arizona. Giffords has spent months in the hospital and rehabilitation, only recently returning to Washington, D.C. to cast a vote in favor of raising the debt ceiling.
While Giffords is on the mend, a memoir will be released from her and her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly. They are co-authoring the book with Jeffrey Zaslow titled, Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope. It is set for release on November 15.
In the book, they will talk about their journeys before, during, and after the January tragedy. Kelly will talk about his work as an astronaut and what life is like now for the two.
Representatives for the book’s publisher, Scribner, say that Giffords has been active in all areas of the memoir’s development.
I’m so glad to see her engaging and using her story to help others. It’s still surreal that she survived what happened to her. I know her book will be inspiring, if nothing else.
