The world is watching as the fate of Troy Davis is being decided by the U.S. Supreme Court just after 9:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday evening. You can join in the uninterrupted live coverage online by clicking the embedded link above.
Davis is accused of the 1989 murder of off-duty police officer Mark McPhail in Savannah, Georgia. Seven of the nine eyewitnesses that convicted Davis of the crime in 1991 have recanted their testimony. The evidence against Davis has been fuzzy at best.
More importantly, the WORLD has weighed in on this case. Literally. I have been shocked to find people across several continents protesting the potential execution in demonstrations at several U.S. embassies. Social media, such as Twitter and Facebook, have been ablaze with comments calling for action to save Troy Davis.
As of 9:21 p.m. ET, the U.S. Supreme Court has issued a statement saying they do not yet have a decision on the Davis case.
