Michele Bachmann Wants to Be Your Next President
Matt | On 28, Jun 2011
Standing at a podium in her hometown of Waterloo, Iowa, Rep. Michele Bachmann (D-Minn.) officially launched her bid to be the nation’s 45th president.
Let the GAMES begin!!
Bachmann is one of the most polarizing, but strangely popular, GOP presidential candidates. She did impressively well in a Des Moines Register poll in Iowa of likely voters who had her tied with Mitt Romney for first place. Add that with a noteworthy GOP debate performance on June 13, if choking conservatism is your thing, and things are really looking up for Shelly!
Problem is that even if she makes it all the way through and clinches the nomination in August 2012, she will still have to face a well-funded and much more popular President Obama. And she will have the tough task of selling enough people on her brand of presidential leadership when she has been part of the problem for this president. Remember, she is still a member of the current 112th Congress.
Oh, and did I leave out the fact that Rep. Bachmann is just plain batshit crazy? She is an extreme social conservative and Tea Party favorite that believes in leaving the poor and needy in the lurch to advance the status of the rich in the name of “smaller government.” She even has some conservatives turning a side-eye at her.
I’m not one to tell you who to vote for. So, let’s just watch and see how her candidacy unfolds. I’m sure she will SHOW you better than I can TELL you what a mess she is.
