Ohio Gov Kasich Signs Law Allowing Guns In Bars

Ohio Governor John Kasich (R) has shown just how far off the mark his leadership is.
On Thursday, Kasich signed a controversial law into effect allowing those holding concealed carry licenses to bring their guns into BARS, of all places. Gun owners would not be allowed to bring the weapons in if they are already under the influence of alcohol and drugs, though. (And, umm, who is going to be checking the sobriety level of those carrying weapons?)
Licensed businesses can decide themselves if they will allow concealed weapons on their premises. According to Reuters, the Cincinnati Bengals will not allow guns into their stadium for games. I hope the Cleveland Browns do the same thing since their fans hurled beer bottles at refs at a 2001 home game.
The law also allows people to transport a loaded and unsecured handgun in a motor vehicle. Road rage anyone?
Ohioans, this is what your governor is saying in so many words. It’s not ok to have a strong union at work that can help with job security and fair wage. But, if you unfairly lose that job and have a gun permit, feel free to walk soberly into your neighborhood bar, get chocolate-wasted, and shoot the place up. It’s all legal now!
