President Obama To Appear In Facebook Townhall on April 20

| On 06, Apr 2011

President Obama is coming to a computer near you with his live Facebook townhall on the afternoon of April 20.

President Obama will make his way through the “Internets” and stop over at Facebook later this month to talk with the American people.

On April 20, POTUS will host a townhall meeting at Facebook’s Palo Alto, California headquarters alongside the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg and the COO Sheryl Sandberg. During the time online, he will discuss the economy and federal budget. The president will also take pre-screened questions from Facebook participants. The live stream will start at 4:45 p.m. ET / 1:45 p.m. PT.

This is yet another attempt at the White House to get out in front of the people through social media. The Administration regularly uses its website, YouTube, and Twitter to communicate important information to Americans.

We shall see how many truly TOUGH questions the president will take in this townhall. The budget fight, as it stands now, is about to get ugly in the face of a federal shutdown. People temporarily forced out of work, business interrupted in D.C., and the federal government being held hostage to Congress and the White House is NOT going to be a good look.
