Today’s Quote – Michele Bachmann on God and Disasters

| On 29, Aug 2011

GOP hopeful Michele Bachmann is trying hard to connect the dots like a four-year-old between Hurricane Irene and our nation's political system. ::sigh::

During the aftermath of a hurricane is the perfect time to draw parallels between your platform and God’s work. That is, if you are GOP hopeful and U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota).

Today’s fun quote comes from Bachmann who has used the duel instance of an East Coast earthquake and hurricane in the same week to slyly remind us of her presidential platform.

Take it away, Michele!

“I don’t know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We’ve had an earthquake; we’ve had a hurricane. He said, ‘Are you going to start listening to me here?’ Listen to the American people because the American people are roaring right now. They know government is on a morbid obesity diet and we’ve got to rein in the spending.”

I don’t really see the parallel between God getting our attention and the American people doing it. God is much more effective than anything remotely related to Washington politics. Never should He be boxed in like that! lol…

Thanks to Tengrain for the heads-up on the quote!
