The figures are in and President and Mrs. Obama have provided the world with their returns for the 2011 tax year.

Here are a few highlights from the document [see PDF] the White House provided online. In 2011, the Obama family:

  • Earned over $789,000 in income
  • Paid over $160,000 in taxes
  • Donated over $172,000 to charity

Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, also released their returns [see PDF]. Here are some notables from their documents. The Bidens:

  • Earned over $379,000 in income
  • Paid $87,900 in taxes
  • Donated over $5,500 to charity

The president’s income, in particular, has gone down while he’s been in the White House. His book, a major revenue source, isn’t selling as widely as it was when he was a candidate.  But, as you can tell, neither the president nor vice president’s families are struggling by any stretch of the imagination.
