Cory Booker Does Damage Control After Disagreeing With Obama (VIDEO)

| On 21, May 2012

Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday.

He talked about a range of topics, including the 2012 presidential election and his well-known support for President Obama.

Booker was able to slip in some independent thought about his feelings on the Obama campaign’s attacks on Mitt Romney’s work with Bain Capital. Frankly, Booker said he was tired of Obama’s “nauseating” attacks on Bain considering their long(er) track record of success.

In the greater context, I can see why Booker would say this. The back-and-forth attacks of any campaign PERIOD get on everyone’s nerves, including the berating of Bain and other points.

But, let’s not forget that the Obama campaign is a well-oiled political and PR machine. Nothing escapes their watchful eye. I’m sure someone from the campaign was immediately on the phone with Booker prepping how their would have him “clarify” his comments since they received media backlash.

So, Mayor Booker … a sitting, WORKING mayor with other stuff to do … spent a few minutes on Sunday on YouTube explaining to his supporters what he “really meant” about the Obama comments. Mmmhhmmm… Watch the “walk back” below.
