Hillary Clinton Accused of Faking Concussion Last Week

FOX News contributors have no filter. I learned long ago that the network applauds this type of bad behavior.
Since Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is working from home this week following her concussion nearly a week ago, the “news” network has tried to ask some “tough questions.” They don’t believe that she had a concussion. In their minds, Clinton is using the ailment as an excuse not to testify before Congress about the happenings in the American consulate attack earlier this year in Benghazi.
According to Media Matters for America, FOX contributor John Bolton had the following to say about Clinton’s absence:
“I mean, I certainly hope it’s nothing serious. But this was revealed in a way that I think was not transparent, and I think there is an obligation here, especially if Secretary Clinton decides to run for president, to indicate what happened. She may beat testifying this week, but she’s not going to escape it forever,” Bolton said in an interview with Greta van Susteren.
FOX anchor Bret Baier took it a step further (see video) by convening a roundtable of contributors who promoted the skepticism that Clinton was easing her way out of testimony. They cite her public silence on the issue since September.
The accusation that Secy. Clinton somehow faked her concussion doesn’t make sense. I mean, she was sick with the stomach flu last week and suffered from dehydration. So, it’s totally plausible that she passed out and hit her head. She’s 65 years old. It happens.
And another thing is that Clinton never said she wouldn’t testify in front of Congress. She sent two of her deputies in her place for the classified hearings this week.
Of course, to Republicans, Clinton’s illness seemed like the perfect out to sharing information with Congress about Benghazi.
I just don’t believe that the secretary of state would do something like that. This is such a high-profile news story that her using “I’m sick” simply as a cop-out doesn’t make sense. It’s akin to saying your dog ate your Ph.D. thesis on the day of your doctoral defense. Secy. Clinton is an attorney with a J.D. from Yale Law School. She clearly knows the weight and gravity of Congressional testimony.
I smell one of FOX News’s usual witch hunts.
Sidenote: I know FOX really loved how three State Department staffers resigned over a heated independent report (ordered by the department) that cited safety issues as a reason for the 9/11 attack in Benghazi. It’s more fuel for their self-started fire.
