KKK Leader Running For Sheriff In Idaho
Matt | On 19, Apr 2012
The political process should be open to everyone. But, sometimes the wrong people step up.
In Idaho, Shaun Winkler, a former Ku Klux Klan imperial wizard is running as a Republican for the post of Bonner County Sheriff. The primary election will be held on May 15.
Winkler has thrown regular shade at Blacks and Mexicans from his hateful position in the KKK. He protested against Martin Luther King Day at Northern Idaho College. But, now he wants the same people he knocks to take him seriously as an impartial law “enforcer.”
And people wonder why there is such mistrust of the police? lol…
Even other Republicans in the area have thrown a strong side-eye to Winkler’s candidacy. People do not believe he will win the primary race, even though Bonner County is heavily Republican and Tea Party-friendly. White supremacy is not a value that people take kindly to in this particular area.
Winkler is up against the incumbent Sheriff Darryl Wheeler and a local police officer, Tim Fry. Whomever wins the May 15 race will face Rocky Jordan, an Independent, in the fall.
ANSWER IN THE COMMENTS SECTION BELOW:
Do you believe Winkler’s claim that he can be impartial in law enforcement despite his Ku Klux Klan affiliation?
Thanks to Foolocracy for the heads-up on the Winkler story!
