Latinos Get On the Obama Train After Immigration News (POLL)
Matt | On 18, Jun 2012
Latinos seem pleased with President Obama’s recent executive order to stop the deportation of young illegal immigrants.
As always, there is going to be a poll released within nanoseconds of any major move between the campaigns. The decision around the latest executive order is no different.
The Latino Decisions survey was revealing in a few ways….
- 49 percent of respondents say they are more enthusiastic about Obama because of the new executive order.
- 14 percent say they are less enthusiastic about Obama from his announcement.
Polls come a dime a dozen. It does seem, however, that President Obama’s announcement resonated in the Latino community. Be on the lookout in the coming weeks for several other polls of Latinos and their support or disinterest in the president.

Do you think the results of this poll matter five months out from the general election?
*The survey polled 775 registered Latino voters between June 12-16 in the battleground states of Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Nevada and Virginia. The margin of error was +/- 3.5 percent. It should be noted that Obama made his official announcement on June 15, over halfway through the survey window.
