The headline is true, but not in the way you’re probably thinking.
Actor Matt Damon recently said he would offer up a big wet one to former President George W. Bush for his support of PEPFAR, or the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. The program pumped $15 billion into AIDS relief in Africa starting in 2003. It was renewed in 2008.
“I would kiss George W. Bush on the mouth for what he did on PEPFAR,” Damon said in an interview in The Atlantic.
“Three seconds, no tongue,” Damon jokingly added. [SOURCE]
The Hollywood actor is a huge supporter of AIDS relief efforts, especially on the African continent. He also supported President Obama in the 2008 election. However, he has not been happy with Obama’s progress on the peripheral issues surrounding AIDS in Africa — including “water and sanitation.” He feels that all of the topics are integral to each other in the fight to stop the spread of the disease.
Kissing Pres. Bush is not exactly how I’d compliment him on a job well done. But, I applaud Damon’s commitment to the global issue. lol…

Do you think President Obama could be doing more for global AIDS relief than what he has accomplished now?
