Michele Bachmann Thinks Lacks of Health Insurance Is a Choice
Matt | On 30, Mar 2012
We already knew that something wasn’t quite right about Michele Bachmann (R-MN). Now she continues to prove just how correct our assumptions were.
The former presidential candidate has spoken out on the issue of healthcare. Everyone has an opinion on the topic since the Supreme Court listened to arguments this week about whether to uphold or throw out certain parts of the Affordable Care Act of 2010 … a.k.a. Obamacare.
Bachmann took to FOX News, of course, to give us her opinion about uninsured Americans. She believes that a good percentage of people who don’t have health insurance CHOOSE that path. This lady actually thinks there are people deciding to get sick en masse simply to avoid paying a bill. How ridiculous…
She fails to face reality that health insurance is extremely expensive and if you don’t make enough money at work or have an employer-sponsored plan, then you don’t have access to insurance. I see she skirted around the topic of costs, combined with un/under-employment, and wage disparities.
Her hypocrisy flows just like someone who gets FREE healthcare from the government for being a member of Congress. When was the last time she had to care about how to get health insurance? I’d love to hear from someone whose had to decide between food and healthcare and let them tell me about securing insurance.
ANSWER IN THE COMMENTS SECTION BELOW:
Is lack of health insurance the fault of the uninsured or the result of a larger economic problem in the U.S.?
Thanks to Think Progress for the Bachmann clip!
