Michelle Obama will grace the stage at a few universities this spring as they honor their newest crops of graduates.

The East Wing has released the First Lady’s official commencement speaking schedule. She’ll don a cap and gown at Virginia Tech (May 11), North Carolina A&T State University (May 12), and Oregon State University (June 17).

According to CNN, Mrs. Obama claims that Virginia Tech was chosen because of their “resilience” in the face of the April 2007 shooting tragedy that left 33 people dead. North Carolina A&T honors the traditions of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. And, funny enough, her brother (Craig Robinson) is the head coach of men’s basketball at Oregon State.

I’ve read remarks from some of her past commencement speeches. The students will be in for a treat! You cannot go wrong with Mrs. Obama as your speaker.

What do you think of the schools chosen for Michelle Obama’s 2012 commencement speech schedule?
