Mitt Romney Halts All Penn. Ad Spending After Santorum Exit

There are some cost savings when your major opponent drops out of the primary race.
For Mitt Romney, his campaign is holding on to an extra $2.9 million on Wednesday since they’ve changed their ad strategy a bit. He decided to pull all advertising from the state in the wake of second-place Rick Santorum bowing out of the race on Tuesday.
That almost $3 million would have created a war-zone of attack ads against Santorum. Since the state is Santorum’s home, it was important to Romney to beat him there.
With Santorum out, Romney will have to do very little convincing in Pennsylvania that he is the choice for the party’s nominee. Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul are barely registering with the state’s voters. They have held on to their distant third and fourth-place standings, respectively.

Do you think it’s ok that Mitt Romney is getting comfortable as the GOP front-runner?
