Mitt Romney Quickly Hits Back After Cory Booker Gaffe (VIDEO)
Matt | On 22, May 2012
If I didn’t believe we lived in an instantaneous media world, I’m sold on it after seeing parts of the 2012 election.
On Sunday, Newark, NJ Mayor Cory Booker made a now-famous appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” discussing a few topics including the Obama campaign. Despite his support for the president, Booker mentioned that the attacks against Mitt Romney’s record with Bain Capital were “nauseating.”
That’s all Republicans and conservative media needed to run with the narrative that Democrats are getting sick of President Obama.
Mitt Romney’s team QUICKLY turned around a new web ad making that exact point. It’s a tried and true tactic in politics to turn your opponent’s words against their team.
In my personal opinion, this Cory Booker story isn’t really one at all. He stepped outside of the Obama narrative for a second, got caught, and now we found out he’s (kinda) in bed with Bain Capital. But, who cares? Booker is not the one running for president.
At the end of the day, it’s still Obama versus Romney.
