The Republican National Convention seems to be full of irony, just like the party, and Tuesday night was no different.
Former Alabama Congressman Artur Davis addressed the convention for about 10 minutes. The funny part was that Davis recently switched over to the Republican Party after losing his primary bid to be Alabama’s governor in 2010. Just four years ago, this same black face was praising Obama to the skies and riding his coattail to get re-elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.
As for the speech, oh, it was one eye-roll after another. Davis urged open-minded Democrats and Independents to reconsider their politics … like he did … and give the Republican Party a chance.
Sorry .. I don’t speak that foreign language called ‘sellout’.
His hair was another failure that probably won’t get as much press. But, it should. Davis showcased his barber’s worst flat-top box fade that he could muster. Even Rep. Allen West has a better haircut than that. Is it a requirement of newly-converted black male Republicans that they keep hairstyles that were … umm .. NEVER in style?
Just watch the video and cringe in your seat. I can overlook Davis being a black Republican .. but not after he used the president to gain some political standing.
