The news cycle was flooded with updates yesterday about President Obama’s announcement that he is in favor of same-sex marriage.
The president sat down for an interview [LINK] with Robin Roberts of ABC News this week when he made the historic announcement. During the segment, the president did admit that his same-sex marriage announcement was premature. Vice President Joe Biden spoke out on the issue on Sunday in a Meet the Press interview.
“I had already made a decision that we were going to probably take this position before the election and before the convention. He [Biden] probably got out a little bit over his skis, but out of generosity of spirit.”
In a nutshell, Biden was running his mouth again and forced the president to have to talk about something he wasn’t ready for. lol..
The ABC interview continued about more than just same-sex marriage. Obama discussed a few interesting points, including his presumed GOP opponent Mitt Romney’s changing position on the auto bailout.
On Romney’s mind-blowing move of taking credit for Detroit’s success:
“[laughs] Well, I think this is one of his Etch-A-Sketch moments. I don’t think anybody takes that seriously. People remember his position which was [to] let Detroit go bankrupt.”
The fact that the president actually laughed at the mention of Romney’s position shows how off base it was. Many media outlets, including ours, noted the sheer hypocrisy of Romney’s statement.
I fully expect to see Romney’s auto industry statement continue to bite him in the ass. Meanwhile, media outlets are dissecting the president’s same-sex marriage announcement.
And just when I thought we were having a “dull” moment in politics……
