President Obama made an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday night.
This was the first time he publicly spoke about Mitt Romney’s now-famous comments about the “47 percent” of the nation that are Obama supporters he doesn’t care about.
The president told Letterman that it is his job to worry about the concerns of everyone, whether or not they voted for him. He cited the speech he gave when he won the election in 2008 as one of the first times he told ALL of the American people that he would work on their behalf.
To me, the president played down Romney’s comments but I see right through it. His campaign is launching into overdrive about it allowing Obama to maintain his air of calm. There are still 49 days left until the election so a lot can change between now and then. What Team Obama needs to portray is a calm president who is walking into victory in November.
