If you can’t beat liberals, why not leave the country altogether? That’s the latest “bright” thinking from some disgruntled voters across the country.
Using the We The People online tool, over 100,000 people have signed petitions in all 50 states to secede from the Union. The safe assumption would be that these people were supporters of Mitt Romney. To me, this is a petty way of dealing with last Tuesday’s stunning defeat for Romney.
You know how old folks used to say,”Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!” That’s how I feel about the people who want to secede.
How do these people think they will get through natural disasters like Hurricane Sandy without federal assistance? States have had a lot of trouble balancing their own budgets. Now they feel fiscally strong enough to stand on their own? What about military protection, clean water and air, Medicare, and similar issues? It doesn’t seem like a well thought-out plan to me.
Governors in several states have dismissed the plan because they know the political lava any support could bring.
I sat through most of my twenties, my GOLDEN YEARS, with George W. Bush at the helm of this great nation. He took a pile driver to our global standing, budget, and fiscal surplus. Did you see states seceding from the union then? No. Why waste energy to have states leave now?
The reaction by conservatives to Obama’s win last week has been priceless to say the least. I have never seen a bigger group of sore losers in my life — people want to leave the Union, others were openly crying, and no one wants to blame the tired GOP policies.
Delusion is a powerful drug, y’all …………….
