Should Hillary Clinton Run for President In 2016?
Matt | On 03, Apr 2012
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is putting big red X’s on her calendar these days. She is counting down her time as leader of the U.S. Department of State.
Per earlier announcements, Secy. Clinton has said that she will resign her post at the end of President Obama’s first term. Her plan is to spend more time with family and friends. She has stated in the past that she does NOT plan to run for president again like she did in 2008.
We haven’t made it through the 2012 election yet and pundits are already focusing on 2016. Power brokers such as former President Bill Clinton, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and others have weighed in on a potential presidential run from Hillary Clinton in four years. Didn’t they hear her the first 22 times she said ‘no’? LOL.
It’s as if the more Hillary says no, the powers-that-be (and everyday folks) want her to run.
If she does throw her hat in the race, she’ll have to start planning once the 2012 contest finishes. She’ll be able to take a year, maybe two, off before she actively starts into campaign mode. It’s a long haul to the finish line of the White House!
Mind you, all this speculation could be for nothing if this really is the end of Hillary’s professional career. Decisions, decisions…
