Wedding bells rang out in one of the most well-known, if not always well-liked, political families.
Mary Cheney, the second daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, married her longtime partner Heather Poe in Washington, D.C. The couple have two children.
Ms. Cheney has been openly gay for years, which ironically came against her family’s Republican ties. Her father bucked the system when he came out in support of Mary’s sexuality and against a federal ban of same-sex unions after he left office. When he was in office, however, he was in favor of the GOP position against it and wanted the states to decide.
The Cheney Family released a public statement on Friday announcing the marriage and their happiness about their daughter’s new step in life. Oh, how fortunes can turn….
