Chelsea Clinton to Headline Day of Service During Inaugural Weekend

Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is taking a prominent role in the inauguration of another president.
She will headline the National Day of Service on Saturday on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The event is the official kickoff to the inaugural weekend of President Barack Obama.
The National Day of Service is the brainchild of the Obamas. They wanted to incorporate a large push for community involvement as part of their festivities. They started the tradition back in 2009 at the president’s first inauguration.
Clinton will speak specifically at the Service Summit on the Mall. She will be joined by several other speakers and performers — actress Eva Longoria, gospel singer Yolanda Adams, Delaware Atty. General Beau Biden, and actress Angela Bassett, to name a few.
There will be at least 100 different service organizations on the National Mall on Saturday. Some will have hands-on projects for volunteers to complete. For more information about the event or how you can participate, click here.
