George W. Bush Addresses the Crowd at His Presidential Center Dedication (VIDEO)

Former President George W. Bush had his big moment in the sun on Thursday when his presidential center opened in Dallas, Texas.
Speaking for less than 15 minutes to the crowd at Southern Methodist University, Bush tried to keep it as cute as possible at the podium while discussing his “legacy.” It’s clear that he thinks history will judge him and his team in a different light than the one the free world sees him in. Just for yesterday, I let him have that fantasy.
Bush touched on his usual talking points about 9/11, the war on terror, and how rigid his administration was about their convictions. I guess some people need to constantly tell themselves they were right about something in the face of overwhelming error.
I wonder what all the other living presidents were thinking about Bush’s view of his two terms. President Obama, plus former presidents Clinton, Bush Sr., and Carter were on-hand at the ceremony with their wives.
Bush wrapped up the speech by dropping a well-timed tear when he said “I believe America’s best days lie ahead…” He wasn’t lying about that. Any day that he’s not in office puts America on a path toward better days….
