North Korea Green Lights a Nuclear Reactor

North Korea has really been on its rag lately and it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
The country’s president, Kim Jong Un, has drifted the nation closer to all out war with the U.S. and South Korea — and really the international community as a whole. It was announced on Monday that North Korea will restart its nuclear reactor that was shuttered in 2007 as part of deal that forced them to disarm in exchange for foreign aid.
For years, the international community has fought to keep North Korea from enriching uranium to create a potentially deadly nuclear weapon. Leaders in the country maintain that they are using it for electricity and military support.
This past December, however, North Korea launched a long-range rocket. They also did a nuclear test in February, according to Al-Jazeera. North Korea also has not been pleased with annual military drills that South Korea and the U.S. have conducted in advance of threats.
To me, this whole issue with North Korea is pointless. The country cannot even feed its citizens and keep the electricity on all day. They have an advanced military, but yet a population living in third-world conditions. They won’t need war to kill off their people because the regime seems to slowly be doing that anyway. Kim Jong Un just seems enamored with his newfound power, as he hasn’t even turned 30 yet. He is most likely using the threat of war to blackmail other countries into helping him. I just want to tell him to “Be a real leader and help your own people…”
The world is tired of war……….
