On Monday, President Obama used his bully pulpit to highlight one of the major health issues of our time … HIV and AIDS.
World AIDS Day was technically on Sunday, December 1. But, Obama’s team was wise in having POTUS speak about it on Monday to maximize exposure to his audience. He offered a commitment of more key funding for HIV/AIDS research. He also touted the benefits of how Obamacare can help those with the disease and others wishing to get tested.
The president was joined with additional remarks by Secretary of State John Kerry and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
