Obama Fibs About Being Smoke-Free for Six Years

Here’s a piece of news most Americans probably could care less about.
President Obama recently shared with Maina Kiai, a United Nations official from Kenya, that he has been smoke-free now for about six years. The president was encouraging the Kiai that he too could kick the habit.
According to CNN video, Obama said:
“I hope you quit smoking. I haven’t had a cigarette probably in six years. That’s because I’m scared of my wife,” the president told Kiai.
There was one small problem, however. The president HAS had a cigarette sometime in the past six years. Maybe he misspoke or couldn’t count the years backward in his head fast enough … lol!
As of February 2010, the president’s physician reported that he was still smoking. Obama himself admitted to sneaking puffs every now and again. I remember him being on TV saying he would step outside to smoke knowing how First Lady Michelle Obama didn’t approve of it. In early 2011, Mrs. Obama went on record saying the president had been smoke-free for several months at that point. That doesn’t sound like six years ago to me.
But, who really cares how long it has been since the president smoked? I don’t. Of course, FOX News is drumming up the controversy … so what’s new? With all the garbage they throw at Obama everyday, he deserves to hold a press conference and light something stronger than a cigarette and blow it in everyone’s face. LMAO!
