Obama Gets Real About Obamacare (VIDEO)

With just days until the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (better known as Obamacare) for consumers, President Obama took to the American people to explain a few things about the changes coming on Tuesday, October 1.
Some major points to note from Obama’s speech:
- If you already have health insurance through your employer, Medicare, or on your own, then there will be no need to change anything.
- The uninsured will be able to go on Healthcare.gov starting Tuesday and search by state for the best plans where they live.
- Depending on your income level, there may be help for the uninsured to get coverage.
- If you are uninsured and don’t get coverage, there will be tax penalties for not having insurance.
One of my favorite quotes from the speech was near the beginning when the president said:
“In the wealthiest nation on Earth, no one should go broke because they get sick.”
If that isn’t the God’s honest truth! Unfortunately, that reality has visited far too many people during the time(s) when they need help the most.
It’s good to see the president and his team getting out to the people to explain the law, its changes, and the kind of roadblocks Republicans have pulled out to stop its implementation.
