CPAC’s Minority Outreach Panel Draws Scarce Audience

This is a really sad, but accurate, visual from the Conservative Political Action Conference (or CPAC, for short) this year.
What you are looking at is mostly empty room at the “Minority Outreach” session at CPAC last Thursday. Mind you, the conference is pretty well-attended by several stars in the conservative world. It also received a lot of mainstream press over its three-day run.
The session should have been packed to capacity considering the GOP’s terrible track record with minorities. Yet, the Party continues to overlook opportunities to bridge the gap with people of color. And then they wonder why they lose elections so bad within communities of color.
The photo was taken by blogger John J. Hudak, who is also a fellow at the Brookings Institute and covered CPAC. It’s so funny how someone captured so much irony just with a click of probably their cell phone camera and a social media app. Wow!
