Cummings Rips Into Issa In IRS Hearing (VIDEO)

A lot of what happens in House and Senate hearings is boring procedural legal wrangling that makes it fun to watch paint dry.
Today, however, we got a little more action from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Ranking Member Elijah Cummings (D-MD) had it out with Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) because Cummings felt he was not given appropriate time to speak.
The committee was in a hearing with Lois Lerner, a former IRS executive. She invoked her fifth amendment right when asked some questions about the IRS scandal. Issa was annoyed by the move which she had also used nine months ago. So, he decided to shut down the committee hearing since he could not get the testimony he wanted out of her.
Cummings tried to ask some questions before Issa left the room. Once Issa realized that Cummings was taking him to task over some comments he made on Fox News about the trumped-up “scandal” and the Obama Administration, Issa was having none of it.
What you are seeing in this clip is Cummings mostly reacting Issa trying to run away from tough questions. I applaud Cummings for standing his ground. Issa can be a real a**hole when he wants to be on pretty much any topic.
Darrell Issa met his match today. Do you see how quickly he scooted out of the hearing? LMAO!
