Oprah Winfrey Michelle Obama birthday Hawaii

First Lady Michelle Obama is in no mood to deal with the brutal cold weather that engulfed much of the nation earlier this week.

While everyone including President Obama and their two daughters, Malia and Sasha, were headed back to work and school on January 6, Mrs. Obama stayed behind in Hawaii on vacation. The First Lady has a pretty big milestone next week as she turns 50 on January 17.

Her time in Hawaii hasn’t been spent alone. She decided to link up with her friend, media mogul Oprah Winfrey for some rest and relaxation at the OWN network executive’s palatial estate. Reports say they are enjoying cocktails, horses, and amazing views of the sunsets and ocean. Does anyone else smell an “Oprah’s Next Chapter” episode coming out of this vacation? I hope so!

According to The Daily Caller, Mrs. Obama has also been joined by Oprah’s BFF Gayle King of CBS News, White House Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett, and Sharon Malone, the wife of Attorney General Eric Holder.

It only makes sense that the two most powerful women in the world would spend a little time together. Winfrey is also celebrating a milestone birthday this month, turning 60 on January 29.

I can’t even begin to express my jealousy about a week’s vacation in Hawaii. What I wouldn’t give for some 70+ degree weather now?!
